Learn Adobe XD for UX & UI Design

In this class, you’ll thoroughly learn Adobe XD from beginning to advanced features for UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) design.

Adobe XD is a modern design app that was built with the specific needs of a modern web designer, UX designer, or app designer in mind. Unlike image editing programs such as Photoshop—which were originally created for print, photo retouching, or illustration—the entire focus of Adobe XD is on designing user interfaces and user experiences. You can craft the visuals and turn them into working prototypes all in a single app!

XD uses artboards, so you can efficiently design web layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop (or screens for apps). It’s vector-based, so you can scale for a variety of screen sizes with ease, as well as export hi-res (Retina) graphics for the web or apps. You’ll find tools and features specifically relevant to UI (User Interface) design and UX (User Experience) design, such as symbols, repeat grids, built-in protyping tools, and much more.

Learn to design complex and realistic prototypes with advanced functionality. You’ll use component states to create hovers, add animations to your designs using auto-animate, make specific areas of content scrollable using scroll groups, and much more.

Make your graphics stand out with 3D transforms, create anchor links that let users scroll up or down within a page, add audio sound effects to your user interfaces, and more!

However, if you plan to take the course live online, you may need to obtain required software. We’ll help you get set up with a free trial of paid software prior to the class. Most of our coding classes utilize freely-available open-source software. For most of our design and motion graphics courses, we will help you get set up with a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud. If you attend the course in-person, we will have a computer already set up for you with all of the required software for no additional cost.

Students must be comfortable using a computer. No other prior knowledge is required.

Can I take this course online (remote learning)?

You may attend this training virtually (online) at the scheduled time the course is offered (New York, Eastern Time).

How does attending “live online” work?

Students can attend this training remotely through screen sharing software (we use Zoom).
Participants can hear the instruction, ask questions, and even share their screen with the instructor.
For audio you can use your computer’s microphone/speakers or call a phone number that we’ll provide.
Classes are activity-based and taught by a live instructor, so we strongly encourage students who are local to the area to attend in person!
You will need your own computer and copy of any required software. If you don’t have the software, you can usually do a free trial or purchase your own license. If you need assistance, contact us at nyc@careercenters.com

What happens if I need to miss a session?

You have some options:

You can watch a recording of the session. We will provide any course materials.
If you can’t come into the classroom but can still attend remotely, we will provide you with the Zoom login information.
You can use your free retake to make up any missed class time.
